Lighting

A work light is not a hunting light

A panel on the roof earns its place when you are gralloching, loading, or finding the way back. But the rule governing artificial light in taking game is one of the sharpest in Polish hunting law, and it is worth knowing where the line runs.

Equipment

Three kinds of light, three different jobs

A driving panel lights the strip ahead. An area light lights the workspace around the vehicle. They are not substitutes, and most people buy the second while thinking they bought the first.

The law in Poland

Where working equipment stops

Below is what we were able to establish. We do not settle the legal dispute — we show that one exists.

Art. 53(5) of the Hunting Act

Taking game by means of artificial light is a criminal offence carrying up to five years' imprisonment.

The hunting conditions regulation

At the same time it permits night vision and thermal imaging when hunting wild boar at night, and illuminated reticles.

The contradiction is real

The statute ranks above the regulation and hunters have argued about it for years. We take no position — we flag that both norms exist.

What we sell here is working and road lighting for a vehicle. Responsibility for how it is used in the field rests with the user.

Information only, not legal advice. As of 8 September 2026, to be confirmed against the consolidated text of the Act. If you are hunting in Poland as a guest, your organiser should brief you on this.

We will match the light to how you actually use the vehicle

Tell us whether you need light for forest tracks, for working at the bed, or for both. Those are three different purchases, and the most common reason a first panel gets resold.
